1. About Ritual and Kove

Ritual is a fitness tracking and health awareness application developed and published by Kove, an independent software studio based in Chennai, India. References to "Kove," "we," or "us" throughout these Terms refer to this entity.

Ritual provides workout tracking, GPS cardio recording, hydration monitoring, guided recovery, steps analysis, health scoring, performance calculators, gamification, coaching profiles, and related features. Ritual is a self-tracking and educational tool. It is not a medical application, clinical service, or professional fitness advisory service.

2. Eligibility

Ritual's age rating varies by region as determined by the Apple App Store:

• 17+ in 173 countries and regions - including the United States, United Kingdom, India, and most global markets
• 10+ in Brazil - in accordance with Brazilian App Store age classification standards
• All Ages in South Korea - in accordance with Korean App Store age classification standards

By using Ritual, you confirm that you meet the applicable minimum age rating for your region, or that you are using the application under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.

Regardless of regional age rating, Ritual is not directed at children under the age of 13. Users under 13 are not permitted to use the application. If Kove becomes aware that a user under this age is using Ritual, access may be terminated and any associated data removed. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 is using Ritual, contact us at hello@trainritual.com.

3. Licence to Use

Ritual is licensed to you, not sold. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Kove grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Ritual on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application
• Distribute, sublicence, sell, rent, or transfer the application or your rights to it
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, branding, or labels within the application
• Use the application for any unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the application or its infrastructure
• Interfere with or disrupt the performance, security, or integrity of the application

4. Free Tier and Ritual Pro

Ritual is free to download and includes a generous free tier covering core workout logging, GPS cardio, hydration tracking, recovery sessions, steps analysis, Health Score, performance calculators, gamification, share cards, and iCloud backup.

Ritual Pro is an optional paid upgrade that unlocks unlimited custom workouts, exercises per workout, and folders. Ritual Pro is available in the following subscription tiers, as well as a one-time lifetime purchase option, at pricing set by Kove and processed through the Apple App Store:

• Ritual Pro Weekly
• Ritual Pro Monthly
• Ritual Pro Annual
• Ritual Pro Lifetime (one-time purchase, no recurring charge)

5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Auto-Renewal

All Ritual Pro subscription purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Kove does not directly handle, store, or process payment information of any kind.

The following terms apply to all Ritual Pro subscriptions:

• Subscription prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase and may vary by region
• Prices are subject to change. You will be notified of any price change before it takes effect
• You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID account settings on your device or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Pro features until that date
• No partial refunds are issued for unused periods of a subscription
• All refund requests must be directed to Apple, not Kove. Apple's refund policy applies
• The Lifetime purchase is a one-time charge with no recurring fees and no expiry

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional statutory rights regarding cancellation of digital services. Where Ritual Pro service has already commenced at your request within any applicable cooling-off period, you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal may be limited or waived in accordance with applicable law.

6. Apple as Distributor

Ritual is made available through the Apple App Store. Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Ritual or its content. However, as required by Apple's App Store terms, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple App Store Terms of Service, the Apple App Store Terms of Service shall take precedence with respect to your use of the App Store.

7. Data, Storage, and Share Links

Ritual stores your training data locally on your device. Deleting the application may permanently erase all locally stored data. Kove is not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, app deletion, iOS updates, or any other cause.

You are solely responsible for enabling iCloud backup or device backup if you wish to preserve your data. Kove provides an in-app iCloud backup feature for your convenience but makes no guarantee of backup completeness or reliability.

When you choose to generate a public share link for a session, that session's data is transmitted to and stored on a third-party database infrastructure (Upstash via Vercel) to serve that link. Share links are entirely opt-in. You may delete any share link within Ritual at any time, which removes the associated data from the database. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

8. Health, Fitness, and Medical Disclaimer

Ritual is not a medical application and does not provide medical advice. All outputs from Ritual — including health scores, calculator estimates, training plans, recovery suggestions, and any other content — are for informational and educational purposes only.

Your use of Ritual, including participation in any workout, cardio session, recovery activity, or training plan generated by the application, is entirely at your own risk. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or modifying any exercise programme.

9. Intellectual Property

All content within Ritual — including but not limited to the application design, source code, branding, themes, graphics, text, training systems, calculator methodologies, achievement structures, XP and levelling frameworks, and the Ritual name and wordmark — is the exclusive intellectual property of Kove and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property law.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to Kove's intellectual property beyond the limited licence described in Section 3. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of any Ritual content is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ritual is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Kove does not warrant that:

• The application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs or viruses
• Health metrics, scores, or calculator outputs will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose
• Training plans or recommendations will produce any specific fitness outcome
• Data, backups, or syncs will be complete or reliable
• The application will be compatible with all devices or future iOS versions

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kove, its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of Ritual, including but not limited to:

• Physical injury, illness, or health deterioration arising from training activities
• Inaccuracy of any health metric, score, or calculator output
• Loss of workout data, training history, or progress records
• Loss of access to Ritual Pro features due to subscription expiry or payment failure
• Any indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on information provided by the application

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, Kove's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for Ritual Pro in the twelve months preceding the claim, or INR 500 (whichever is greater).

12. Termination

Kove reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to Ritual at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or exploit the application, or engage in conduct that is harmful, fraudulent, or illegal.

You may stop using Ritual at any time by deleting the application from your device. Termination does not entitle you to any refund of subscription fees already paid.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Ritual shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Notwithstanding the above, if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction where local consumer protection law provides mandatory rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights are not affected by this clause.

14. Privacy

Your use of Ritual is governed by the Ritual Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to These Terms

Kove may update these Terms at any time as Ritual evolves. The date of the most recent revision is displayed at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in Ritual's App Store update release notes. Continued use of Ritual following any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Medical Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kove with respect to Ritual and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings of any kind relating to the application.
